What do we do?
The Narcotics and Vice Division of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department implements a coordinated and cooperative enforcement strategy designed to measurably reduce, disrupt and dismantle criminally active organizations in the region and to incarcerate the persons affiliated with them. Our Division’s efforts are aimed at identifying and incarcerating those criminals involved in human trafficking, prostitution, illegal pornography, the sales and manufacturing of narcotics, the unlawful distribution of firearms, illegal gambling, the unlawful sale of alcohol and tobacco, criminal gangs as well as individuals identified as career criminals.
How do we get things accomplished?
We accomplish our goals through the utilization of local, state and federal partners along with the personnel, funds, and resources that they provide. These partners include your State and Federal Prosecutors, the U.S. Marshal’s Service, the Midwest High Intensity Drug Task Force (H.I.D.T.A.), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), the US Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.), the US Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.), the United States Postal Inspection Service (U.S.P.I.S.) and other local law enforcement agencies.
Our Division’s initiatives are funded through the City’s continued support of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, through our partner agencies’ grants and through the public by local tax initiatives such as the Jackson County C.O.M.B.A.T. Fund.
