Health Department now offers pregnancy testing Wednesday, November 9, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., now offers pregnancy testing in two Health Department clinics. Pregnancy tests may be obtained at no cost through the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic when the patron is tested for STDs or through the Adult and Travel Immunization Clinic at a cost of $20. Both clinics are located at 2400 Troost Ave.

City offices closed, trash pickup delayed on Nov. 11 Friday, November 4, 2011
In observance of Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11, City of Kansas City, Mo., offices and the 3-1-1 Action Center will be closed. In addition, curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day for residents who usually have Friday collection. Instead, residents with Friday collection will receive this service Saturday, Nov. 12.

City completes $89.175 million Sewer Revenue Bond Issuance Friday, November 4, 2011
On the morning of Nov. 3, 2011, the City of Kansas City, Mo., successfully issued a total of $89.175 million in sewer revenue bonds. The bond proceeds plus $9.0 million in net premium provided $90 million in funding of improvements related to disinfection in connection with the City’s $2.5 billion overflow control program and for construction of new sewers in the First and Second Creek watersheds. The effective interest rate for the new money portion is 3.97 percent.
