In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 16, curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and City of Kansas City, Mo., offices, including the 3-1-1 Action Center, will be closed.

WSD to perform water repairs in River Market area Monday, January 9, 2012
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department will perform water main and valve repairs Monday, January 9th in the River Market area. Water will be off from approximately Washington Street to the west side of Main Street and from Independence Avenue to the Missouri River starting about 10 p.m. on Monday and is anticipated to be back on about 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

City announces key appointments for Public Works and Law Tuesday, January 3, 2012
City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager Troy Schulte has announced that effective Jan. 1, 2012, Assistant City Manager for Infrastructure Sherri McIntyre has been appointed as the director of the City’s Public Works Department. McIntyre has served as the interim director of Public Works since the retirement of Stan Harris in August 2011. McIntyre will continue to fulfill duties as the assistant city manager for infrastructure.

In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, City of Kansas City, Mo., offices and the 311 Call Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 and curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day. Residents who usually have Monday collection will receive the service on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Residents who usually have Friday collection will receive it on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Annual registration of Kansas City rental properties due Jan. 31 Wednesday, December 28, 2011
All owners of rental dwellings located in Kansas City, Mo., must renew or establish registration of their rental properties with the City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood and Community Services Department for 2012 by Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. Annual registration of rental properties is part of the Rental Registration and Inspection Program established by the City Council with passage of ordinance No. 071046 in October 2007.
