City receives $20,000 grant to advance urban agriculture Tuesday, September 13, 2011
The Urban Sustainability Directors Network has chosen the City of Kansas City, Mo., in partnership with the cities of Columbia, Mo., and St. Louis, Mo., to receive its Innovation Opportunity Fund Grant. This $20,000 grant will fund the research of effective policies and practices that advance urban agriculture across the country.

Health Department to open flu shot clinic on Monday Friday, September 9, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., will begin providing flu vaccinations for adults at the Health Department, 2400 Troost Ave., on Monday, Sept. 12. Flu shots will be available during regular clinic hours from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursdays.

Budget Division to merge with Finance Department Friday, September 9, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., has announced that the Budget Division of the City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager’s Office will be transferred to the Finance Department and merged with the Accounts Division. As a cost savings measure, the reorganization will yield savings of more than $100,000 per year. The merger is effective Monday, Sept. 12, 2011.
