Portion of Blue Parkway to close Friday, January 5, 2007
The eastbound lanes of Blue Parkway from Fairway Drive to Bennington Avenue will close Jan. 8 at 9 a.m. to accommodate construction for the East 55th Street and Bennington Avenue storm sewer improvement project. The City of Kansas City, Mo., Capital Improvements Management Office is managing this project.

Temporary closure of Blue River Road on Jan. 4 Wednesday, January 3, 2007
Blue River Road, between Red Bridge Road and Martha Truman Road, will close Jan. 4 at 9 a.m. The closure is being made to accommodate the blasting and removal of rock that is falling near the roadway. The work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. on Jan. 4.

Second fall leaf and brush collection announced Friday, October 27, 2006
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department announced today that it is adding a second fall leaf and brush curbside collection this fall. In addition to the previously announced first collection that is scheduled to begin Oct. 30, a second collection will take place between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The second collection is being added to better serve citizens’ needs in light of the warmer fall temperatures this year that have kept leaves on the trees longer.

Filling Station to close and seek buyer Thursday, October 19, 2006
The Filling Station Restaurant and Lounge is voluntarily surrendering its 3 a.m. liquor license to the City of Kansas City, Mo. The establishment, located at 11515 Hickman Mills Drive, will retain its 1:30 a.m. and Sunday liquor licenses, and close while a new owner is pursued.
