City suspends liquor license of Gerry's Silver Slipper for 66 days
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the management of Gerry's Silver Slipper have agreed to a 66-day suspension of the establishment's liquor license. Gerry's Silver Slipper is located at 4704 Independence Ave.
The suspension will begin March 29 at 9 a.m. and end June 3 at 3 a.m. This suspension is the result of multiple violations of City ordinances.
The Regulated Industries Division cited Gerry's Silver Slipper with violations of City ordinance regarding maintaining an orderly place that is safe and clean. Occurrences that led to the suspension of the establishment's liquor license include multiple thefts in the establishment and its parking lot; a fight that included more than 20 people, of whom three were stabbed multiple times; and the murder of two customers who were leaving the establishment.
As a condition of the suspension, the management of Gerry's Silver Slipper has agreed to provide education, training and instruction to their employees about City ordinances.
