Reminder: Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund applications due Oct. 15
Organizations interested in applying for reimbursable grants for the fiscal year 2013-2014 from the City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund must submit their applications by Monday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
Any organization wishing to apply for a grant must host cultural, social, ethnic, historic, educational or recreational activities. In addition, interested organizations must:
- be a non-profit incorporated in the State of Missouri;
- have its registered office in the city limits of Kansas City, Mo.;
- have neighborhood, community, tourism, promotion and development priorities as part of its mission;
- meet the City’s requirements for contracting with non-municipal agencies; and
- thoroughly demonstrate that it meets the program’s eligibility requirements.
Please note, neighborhood organizations no longer need to have IRS 501(c)(3) status as a charitable organization to participate in the program.
Applications are available at www.kcmo.org/ntdf or at the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department, located on the fourth floor of City Hall, 414 E. 12th St.

Applications considered during the 2013-2014 fiscal year are for activities that occur between May 1, 2013 and April 30, 2014. While applications are accepted year-round, many organizations choose to apply by Oct. 15 as more money is available for this funding cycle than any other.
The Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department manages the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund.
