City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager Wayne A. Cauthen has named Acting Court Administrator Anthony L. Miller as the permanent administrator of the Municipal Court Department, effective immediately.
Miller has served as acting administrator since January 2009, and also worked as assistant court administrator from January to December 2008 and as assistant to the court administrator from 2006 to 2008. Miller was a fellow in the City’s L.P. Cookingham Management Fellowship Program from 2001 to 2002. As court administrator, Miller will be responsible for all non-judicial duties of the court, including purchasing, budgeting, records management and supervision of a staff of nearly 70 employees. He also will work with Municipal Court judges to continue to ensure department processes are efficient for customers.
Miller has a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a master’s degree in business administration from Baker University and a bachelor’s degree in urban affairs from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In addition, Miller is a Certified Court Manager from the National Center of State Courts’ Institute for Court Management.
