Outdoor taping of “Pet Connection” at Penguin Park cancelled

The outdoor taping of the “Pet Connection” show previously scheduled for today at 2 p.m. in Penguin Park, Vivian Road and North Norton Road, has been cancelled due to weather.

Councilwoman Becky Nace, 5th District at large, invited Northland pet owners and citizens to this taping of “Pet Connection” to watch the show and participate in a question and answer session with Mike Schumacher, manager of the Animal Control Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department.

Nace is the host of “Pet Connection,” which is seen on KCCG-TV2, the city government cable channel, available to Kansas City, Mo., residents who subscribe to Time Warner Cable or Everest Connections. The program is devoted to saving the lives of homeless and unwanted pets by promoting pet adoption. “Pet Connection” has been instrumental in helping the City’s animal shelter increase adoptions by showcasing available dogs and cats. The program also provides information about various services provided by the Animal Control Division, such as low-cost spay and neuter programs, vaccination clinics and pet licensing.

Plans to reschedule the Penguin Park show will be announced later.
