Health Department names deputy director
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department has appointed Clyde E. Bolton as deputy director of the Health Department, effective Sept. 4.
Bolton spent 22 years of progressive responsibility and rank in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a field grade officer. After retiring, he served as a hospital administrator in Nebraska and West Virginia.
Bolton joined the Kentucky Department of Health as director of the Resource Management Division in 2000 and was promoted to director of the Division of Public Health Protection and Safety in April 2005.
“As a previous hospital administrator and resource manager, Mr. Bolton will bring valuable experience to help meet our challenges in providing cost-effective, high quality health care to our growing uninsured population,” said Dr. Rex Archer, director of the Health Department.
Bernard “Bert” Malone, currently the interim deputy director, assumed this additional position in September 2005 and served in an exemplary fashion. Malone will now be able to focus full-time on his duties as manager of the Environmental Health Services Division.
