Regent Restaurant and Bar license appeal hearing set for Aug. 17
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division and the Liquor Control Board will conduct a hearing Aug. 17 for the owners of Regent Restaurant and Bar to appeal the City's decision to not approve the business' application for a liquor license. Regent Restaurant and Bar is planned to be located at 11611 Hickman Mills Drive.
"The transfer of the liquor license of VI Ultra Club, which was located at 1111 Grand Blvd., was not approved for various reasons," said Jim Ready, acting manager of the Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department. "A liquor-licensed establishment with an interior occupant capacity of 650 people, which would like to provide live entertainment and be licensed as a dance hall would not be in the best interest of the surrounding neighborhood."
The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 17 at the Health Department, 2400 Troost Ave.
