Office of Civic and Community Engagement recognized by Hickman Mills School District
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Office of Civic and Community Engagement will be formally recognized by the Hickman Mills C-1 School District during the district’s “Applause Applause” ceremony on Thursday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at the district’s administrative office, 9000 Old Santa Fe Road.
The Hickman Mills C-1 School District is recognizing the Office of Civic and Community Engagement for providing students in the district with a multitude of positive resources.
The Office of Civic and Community Engagement, along with the City of Kansas City, Mo., as a whole, have supported the district on many projects, including:
Project Shine, Bright Future Employment Program, Active Living KC, Greater Kansas City College Experience, Third and Long, Freedom Riders, Celebrity Golf Tournament, internship opportunitiesand many other educational endeavors. The partnership between the City and the Hickman Mills district was established in 2005. Since then, hundreds of students have been granted a multitude of opportunities.
“As the Mayor of Kansas City, we are invested in helping all young people become successful. We are honored by this recognition and lookforward to a long-lasting partnership,” said Mayor Sly James.
The Hickman Mills C-1 School District’s “Applause, Applause” ceremonies monthly recognize students, student groups, community members and staff who have contributed to the district.
