City official named area public administrator of the year
Earnest Rouse, assistant to City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager Wayne A. Cauthen, has been named the 2009 Public Administrator of the Year by the board of the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.
Rouse, who also serves as manager of the City’s 3-1-1 Action Center, was recognized for his outstanding performance in implementing and overseeing Action Center operations. The Action Center opened in 2006 and is the central point of contact for questions regarding city services.
“The Action Center allows us to interact and respond to residents and Earnest has done an exemplary job running the center and continually improving customer service,” Cauthen said. “He and his staff have worked tirelessly over the past three years to make the Action Center what it is today.”
Rouse will be honored at the association’s annual awards dinner May 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Swope Memorial Golf Course, 6900 Swope Memorial Drive.
