The Paseo Boulevard to close for 22nd Street construction
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is announcing a detour and road closure for construction at the intersection of 22nd Street and The Paseo Boulevard. The intersection will be closed for approximately two months, starting May 17.
During the closure, traffic on The Paseo Boulevard will detour to Vine Avenue at 19th and 25th Streets. Traffic exiting U.S. Highway 71 north on The Paseo Boulevard will detour to Vine Avenue via 23rd Street. Motorists needing to access U.S. Highway 71 south will be redirected south on Vine Avenue to 25th Street and the 25th and The Paseo Boulevard exit.
This $9 million project will provide roadway improvements along the 22nd Street corridor from Tracy Avenue to Brooklyn Avenue. Improvements include drainage, paving, curbing, signage and installation of retaining walls, traffic signals, street lights and other amenities.
The Capital Projects Office is managing this project for the City’s Public Works Department. Construction is scheduled for completion in late 2010.
