Metal detectors rearranged in Municipal Court Building
In the interest of having a more efficient flow of visitor traffic in the City’s Municipal Court building, the City of Kansas City, Mo., has rearranged the metal detectors inside the main level. This change will eliminate the need for visitors to remain outside the building while waiting to be screened, prior to entering.
With the metal detectors more centralized, the security team will no longer hold items as visitors go to courtrooms. Purses, briefcases and other containers will be required to pass through an X-ray machine and may also be subject to search.
The following are not allowed in the Kansas City, Mo. Municipal Court building for security reasons:
Weapons of any type or size
Tools or sharp instruments
Media inquiries and requests for more information about this subject should be directed to Elizabeth Bowman, Municipal Court, 816-513-6614.
