63rd Street reconstruction begins May 7
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is advising motorists that 63rd Street between Chestnut and Jackson avenues will be restricted to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound beginning Monday, May 7 as the 63rd Street Reconstruction Project begins. In addition, side streets to the north of 63rd Street between Chestnut and Jackson avenues will be temporarily closed. Swope Parkway will remain open. Residents may access homes north of 63rd Street using 62nd Street.
This construction project will replace existing roadway pavement, driveway approaches, curbs, sidewalks and signals, and provide drainage and waterline improvements.
This work is being completed by the City’s Public Works Department and J.M. Fahey Construction Company.
The project will take place in four phases and is scheduled for completion in November 2013.
