Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday, April 19-25
Major appliance purchases exempt from sales tax
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is encouraging residents to save money, conserve energy and stimulate the economy by participating in Missouri’s Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday from April 19 to April 25.
During this week, Energy Star qualified appliances purchased in Kansas City, Mo., will be exempt from state and city sales tax. In addition, purchases made in the portion of Kansas City, Mo., located in Cass County will be exempt from city, state and county sales tax.
The tax holiday applies to appliances valued at $1,500 or less and includes the following:
• Clothes Washers
• Water Heaters
• Air Conditioners
There are no limits on the number of appliances that can be purchased and all purchasers are eligible for the sales tax exemptions.
