Report on audits of outside agencies released
The City Auditor’s Office today released a special report on audits of outside agencies. This report, which is issued annually by the City Auditor, provides the Mayor and City Council with information on the performance of outside agencies and assists them when making decisions about future funding. These agencies, which receive at least $100,000 annually in city funding to provide a public service such as healthcare or legal services for the indigent, are required to have an audit of their financial statements and an analysis of their internal control structure.
The report summarizes the findings in the 45 agencies’ reports. Auditors for almost a third of the agencies reviewed had concerns they were required to report, the same percentage as last year.
This report will be accessible from the City’s Web site at www.kcmo.org beginning Feb. 6.
