Reminder: Aim4Peace sponsors Job, Health and Educational fair
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department’s Aim4Peace program and the Brush Creek Community Center invite residents looking for career/education opportunities or health information to come to the Job, Health and Educational Fair. The event will take place Thursday, Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brush Creek Community Center, 3801 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd.
More than 40 vendors are scheduled to attend the event and are looking to fill more than 150 positions. Some of the employers that will be present include Allied Waste, Ameristar Casino Hotel, Career Advisor, Cartwright Companies, FedEx Ground, Stivers Staffing Services, Transformed Barber & Cosmetology Academy, and UPS Inc.
Health care screenings and information will be provided by the Health Department, the Black Health Care Coalition, Children’s Mercy Hospital – Healthy Start and the Penn Valley Student Nursing Program.
The Art Institutes International – Kansas City, DeVry University, Metropolitan Community College Kansas City – Penn Valley, MCCKC - Business and Technology College and Vatterott College will be among the schools with representatives present to speak with prospective students about enrollment, programs and degree paths.
The event is free and open to the public.
