At the curb

KC Recycles - weekly curbside recycling
Trash collection - weekly collection. Trash tags required for three or more bags (where to get tags)
Appliance and bulky item collection - by appointment. Please call 311 or (816) 513-1313.
Leaf and brush collection - twice in the spring, twice in the fall
Find your days for trash and recycling - A solid waste guide has been mailed to each eligible household. This guide lists trash and recycling service days. If you haven't received this mailing, please call the Action Center at (816) 513-1313.

At the drop-off sites

Recycling drop-off - Wednesday through Saturday at three sites
Leaf and brush drop-off sites - open Saturdays from March 13, 2010 to Jan. 15, 2011 at 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway and I-470 and Raytown Road
Tire drop-off - first Saturday of each month (March through November) at 4707 Deramus
Swap Shop - paint and common household chemicals on Tuesday through Saturday

Long-Term Solid Waste Management Plan
A project team selected by the City began work on a Long-Term Solid Waste Management Plan in September 2007 with a primary goal of identifying a long-term plan of action to effectively manage solid waste. Preliminary steps of this project will evaluate the City’s current and future solid waste needs. Evaluation criteria will observe collection, transportation and disposal of residential waste, as well as recycling contracts.

Trash Cart Pilot Program
TheTrash Cart Pilot Program is Kansas City's newest curbside waste disposal program. This pilot program began service for selected neighborhoods in March 2007.

If a holiday falls during the week, trash and recycling collection takes place on the day following the holiday, and collection for the remaining days of the week also takes place one day later than usual. Friday trash is collected on Saturday during such weeks.
