Deb Hermann was elected to office in March 2003 and re-elected in March 2007. She is chairwoman of the Finance and Audit Committee.
Councilwoman Hermann has demonstrated her leadership through active participation and involvement in 28 civic and community organizations since 1979. She has been a member of the Gracemor Randolph Community Council for 24 years and served as its president from 1994 until her election to the City Council.
Councilwoman Hermann was elected in 2001 as the chairwoman for the Property Maintenance Advisory Committee, and in 1999 was appointed by Mayor Barnes as a Kansas City Plan Commission board member.
Councilwoman Hermann was a member of the KC-GO Competitive Review Committee from 2000 to 2002, the Property Maintenance Advisory Committee and has been a member of the Community Policing Steering Committee since 1994.
Councilwoman Hermann wants the citizens of Kansas City to know her commitment to neighborhoods will continue to be a high priority.
“My priorities will be basic services, infrastructure, restoring the reserve fund and creating efficiencies and improved customer service at City Hall.”
Councilwoman Hermann has been married for 31 years to Tom. They have three children: Erika, Betsy and John.
