City’s KC Green fosters sustainability with SEEC program Monday, September 13, 2010
As part of its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices, the City of Kansas City, Mo., through its KC Green program, has initiated the 10-month Sustainable Energy Education & Communications (SEEC) program. The City aims to educate its employees about the environmental, economic and social impact of sustainable practices, which would not only reduce operational energy and utility usage for the City, but also create long-term benefits for employees at home.

Stadium Drive remains closed for roadway construction Monday, September 13, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo. Capital Projects Office announced the ongoing construction on Stadium Drive will remain closed between Interstate 435 and Manchester Trafficway for at least the first six Kansas City Chiefs home games. During construction, drivers are advised to use gates Four and Five to access the Truman Sports Complex. The roadway is anticipated to open in November 2010.

New walk-in STD clinic option at the Health Department Wednesday, September 1, 2010
To improve patient wait time at the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic, the City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department has implemented a new walk-in STD testing clinic. During regular clinic hours, those without symptoms or known exposure to an STD, who seek testing only, can walk into the clinic and be tested. Testing for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia is available, with results available in seven to 10 business days.

The Municipal Veterans Court of the City of Kansas City, Mo. has been selected to participate in the second training program of the Veterans Treatment Court Planning Initiative, tentatively scheduled for February 2011. The VTCPI, which is the first Veterans Treatment Court training program in the United States, established its training programs to help courts improve their services to Veterans and their communities.
