City suspends liquor license of two local businesses

Two local businesses – Zap In & Out and Royal Foods -- have agreed to temporary liquor license suspensions with the City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division. Both businesses violated City ordinances by selling alcoholic beverages to minors.

Zap In & Out, a full package liquor store located at 5550 Troost Ave., agreed to a 28-day suspension of its liquor license.

The suspension began Monday, Nov. 18 at 6 a.m. and will end Monday, Dec. 16 at 1:30 a.m.

Royal Foods, a full package liquor store located at 4502 E. 24th St., agreed to a 30-day suspension of its liquor license. The suspension will begin Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 6 a.m. and end Friday, Dec. 27 at 1:30 a.m.

During both suspension periods, both businesses will remain closed.

As a condition of the suspension, both businesses’ managing officers have agreed to provide education, training and instruction to their employees about City ordinances.
