City encourages residents to share ideas at final open house for 31st and Prospect area

The City of Kansas City, Mo., has partnered with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to create conceptual design alternatives for future development in the 40 Highway Corridor near 31st Street and Prospect Avenue. As part of this project, the City and MARC invite residents to share their ideas at a final open house on Monday, April 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lucile H. Bluford Branch Library, 3050 Prospect Ave. A presentation will be made at 7 p.m.

During the open house, staff will feature display boards presenting ideas on 40 Highway Corridor redevelopment, and residents will be asked questions and see instant polling results. This project will focus on conceptual plans for three key intersections along the 40 Highway Corridor in eastern Jackson County: Prospect Avenue, Noland Road and Adams Dairy Parkway. It also will study redevelopment potential among these intersections.

Residents unable to attend the open house may contribute input at any time through an online discussion. Visit to register; then click on the U.S. 40 Corridor tab and answer questions.
